Planting new roots on a new blog.
My new year’s resolution for my writing was to leave my old blogging ideas behind, kick them to the curb even and focus on the things that are the most important to me.
Now the only problem in doing that was letting go of the old writings. It was not like what some writers call getting rid of the writing you don’t like by doing that terrible sounding euphemism called ‘killing your babies’ (aka words or writing projects that just aren’t working). I didn’t want to kill anything I had created. What I wanted to do was just let those parts of my writing life go and move on to discover new things. Dig and find new seeds.
So that’s exactly what I’ve done. I’ve deleted the old blog. Now I know there is a die hard blogger reading this somewhere who just shrieked, but yes I deleted it. Breaking away from somethings must be done brutally, though I will admit my deletion was not of everything. I did save a few things worth reading and writing about again.
Now it’s time to begin again, it may be a slow process to get my bearings, but I’m ready to see where this new year takes me.
